Biography

Authentic and with a huge portion of charm, Cosmo Klein leads the viewer through the eventful life of soul legend Marvin Gaye. For Cosmo, considered by many to be one of the “best voices in Germany,” this show is the realization of a dream. He is supported by a band that even the original, the “Prince of Soul”, would have enjoyed.

Under the musical direction of Claus Fischer on bass (Stefan Raab, Lionel Richie, Chaka Khan), Jost Nickel on drums (Mousse T, Seeed, Jan Delay), Hanno Busch on guitar (Stefanie Heinzmann, Sasha, Stefan Raab), Till Sahm on keys (Silbermond), Florian Menzel on trumpet (Till Brönner) and Prof. Peter Weniger on saxophone (Randy Brecker, SWR BIG BAND, Wolfgang Haffner, Billy Cobham, Maceo Parker) they play the arrangements as if they had never done anything else and leave their audience in unrestrained enthusiasm.

Marvin Gaye, born in Washington in 1939, is considered the most successful star from Motown Records in the 60s. He is hailed as one of the greatest soul singers of all time and the inventor of R&B. The music magazine Rolling Stone puts Gaye at number 18 of the 100 greatest musicians and songwriters of all time! In 1987, he is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Unforgotten are numerous world hits such as “What`s going on”, “Ain`t no mountain high enough”, “Lets get it on”, “Trouble man”, “Mercy, mercy, mercy”, “Heard it through the grapevine” and many more.
One of Marvin Gaye’s most spectacular live concerts at the London Palladium is released as a double album in March 1977. Quite unexpectedly, it becomes one of the most successful in Motown’s history.

His end is sad – in a quarrel he is shot by his own father at just 45 years…

His music, however, lives on.

The multi-talented, top ten songwriter and producer Cosmo Klein makes sure of that. The Berlin singer brings the unforgettable concert from London live on stage again.
Together with a top-class band he bows to the grandmaster of MOTWON SOUNDS.
