Biography
The group Habama-Music is formed by the brothers Habibi (1994) and Amadu (1995).
The name consists of the first three letters of both first names. Her mother is from the Ivory Coast, hence the African drumming influence. Their father Uhuru is German and taught them to drum. They master the entire percussion spectrum, from drums to congas and djembe to Caribbean steel drum.
As “Die Löwenstarken Trommler” (The Lion Strong Drummers), they have been stirring up the whole of Germany since childhood and have been heard at countless Africa festivals, as well as at Bayerischer Rundfunk, which dedicated a feature to them.
With a promotional video, they also ended up on Stefan Raab’s show. Studio experience they gained in two video productions, as well as their four CDs documenting their career as drummers.
With their project Habama they advanced in 2012 to a weekly drum event in a nightclub in Ulm.
HABAMA combines the African drum culture with modern disco music.
The dancefloor audience is thrilled by the novel combination.
Habama herself also produces house tracks, accompanying them vocally as well as with drums.
